Lobby Hero StageWe opened our Debut 2010 Season on February 4th in a donated retail space across the Plaza from the soon to be opened Arclight Movie Theatres.

Most recently our temporary theatre was a retail and training space for a major telecommunications vendor. With permit updates and simple changes to start we will evolve into a full-fledged, intimate theatre: a logo on the central Lobby wall, borrowed curtains to separate the front of the house from the auditorium, a storage area divided in two with a new door from the kitchen to create individual dressing rooms for our male & female cast members, rented lighting equipment integrated into the existing ceiling tiles from our prior tenant and masonite tiles on the floor to create the feel of a stage. Our largest investment is the platforms to provide excellent site lines from every seat in the house. These were miraculously built and installed in eight days, and are strong enough to hold the entire USC football team in full motion – over engineered for your listening pleasure! All of these bells & whistles are very exciting, yet as we learned in our humble beginnings the most important assets are great writing, great stories and great talent.  We invite you to join us as we discover theatre that is timeless, provocative and entertaining…

In our Debut Season we were applauded by audiences and critics, and received the prestigious O! Recommends from Ovation voters at the LA Stage Alliance for both productions.
In the fall of 2010 Pacific Stages secured a provisional home on the rooftop of 2141 Rosecrans, across the street from the home of our temporary space. This provisional home began life as a squash court for Mattel employees, and affords us 20 foot ceilings, free parking literally outside our door, and the same wonderful choices of dining and shopping available at our temporary theatre.

Pacific Stages is currently securing the funding to renovate and build a state of the art 99 seat theatre from which we can continue to grow artistically and develop the relationships necessary to embrace our bold plans for the future. We look forward to the day when the South Bay is home to a new not-for-profit mid-size theatre center and achieves our place on the national stage.
